Shiva Sabet-Kazilas, MA, LMFT

Welcome—I’m glad you’re here.

I’m a mental health counselor and clinical supervisor specializing in couples therapy, with a focus on supporting adult children of immigrant families as they navigate the unique challenges in their relationships and personal lives.

My areas of specialty include couples therapy, multicultural relationships, and working with individuals in the context of their relationships. I take a systemic, trauma-informed approach, considering the larger context of your experiences, including cultural, generational, and relational factors. My work is rooted in existential, narrative, and attachment-based perspectives, and I strive to provide a space where you can explore complex emotions, find clarity, and strengthen your sense of self and relationships.

In our sessions, I bring a compassionate and collaborative approach, and I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help you and your partner build deeper connections and heal old wounds. I work with adults experiencing challenges related to identity, family dynamics, life transitions, and interracial or multicultural relationships. I also specialize in perinatal mental health, grief and loss, and other significant life changes
